Get More Golf Distance for Your Game

Many golfers want to get more distance with their golf shots.

Many golfers want to get more distance with their golf shots.

It is fun to send the ball flying long and straight in the air down the fairway or towards your intended target.

More distance off the tee will help you because you will have shorter, easy clubs to hit into the greens.

You are able to hit more greens and get the ball closer to the hole which will lead to lower golf scores.

With that said, below are 4 helpful tips to maximize your distance with your golf shots.

1. Grip

It all starts with the grip.

For me, I just needed to adjust slightly for my natural curve on my downswing with best golf clubs.

For a right-handed player, the power hand, or the right hand has a general tendency to curl to the outside as you swing through.

This can give you a wicked slice, arch you way too much and drastically take away from your momentum by slacking up your line.

2. Posture

Another of the more effective golf distance tips is to watch your posture as you take your stance.

In order for your hips to generate as much energy as possible, you must flex your knees at address.

This enables your weight to shift smoothly from the right to the left side as you hit the ball.

Up until now, your hands have played only a minor role in the golf swing.

Now, as your hips move through the strike zone and the tailor-made clubhead approaches the ball, you need to release with the right hand.

Just as the club connects with the ball, your right hand should snap forward.

This is one of the best golf distance tips, and also one of the most challenging.

But once you mastered this technique, you can achieve a good 10 to 20 yards more.

This works with tee and fairway shots.

To improve the golf distance, when you take short backswing then you need to stop when the hands and your club are of the height as your weight.

The position will look like you are doing a handshake with your thumb pointing up.

Even when you are already doing your follow through, your hands should remain in the same position.

3. Body Reaction And Natural State

Keep in mind the reaction and natural state of your body, tall golfers tend to have more velocity in their swing, typically giving the motion of their body more twist and more follow through.

This can be a major strain on their back, especially the lower back, which is the most common area of injury for golfers today.

They use more thrust through their shoulders to generate that rapid swing, so they may consider some shoulder rotation workouts.

4. Analyze Your Swing

Learn to analyze your swing and its relation to your body type.

It can be the small adjustments that give you most production and impact your game the most.

Give it some time and try out several techniques until you find the one that gives you the most advantage.
